About Us

Dance Jam Music

Dance Jam Music came about from the mid 1990’s when DJ Dean Marcel used to host after hours parties which were called “DJ A.M.” On occasions, live musicians would jam with Dean when he was on the decks and the term “Dance Jam” was penned (also know as D_JAM). At this time, Dean would release recordings of the sessions and created the label using the same session name.

Then when Dean started to produce his own music in 1998, it made sense to continue using the same label name. However, it can be common to see both “Dance Jam Music” and “DJAM” still being used. Dean’s home studio has also kept the name “DJ A.M. Studios” so that the tradition started in 1994 continues.

Dance Jam Music Artists

While we only represent a few artists with Dean Marcel being one of them. We focus on supporting and developing them but our goal is about letting the artists produce and release music they are passionate about over music that can be commercial successful. In 2018 we established a distribution deal with Ditto Music to get our releases included on all major streaming and download sites including Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and many, many others.

Beatport

While all albums are published on all major download and streaming sites, all our major dance releases are also available on Beatport and Juno Downloads in Hi-Res 24bit 48KHz WAV or FLAC formats to ensure everything sounds great in the clubs and on the dance floors across the world..
